Consumer and Trade Tastings
Using wines from the Canada’s Best Wines portfolio, I am able to help local consumer or trade groups set up wine tastings and seminars across Canada, often with the help of local events personnel, and with the input from participating wineries. They could be sit-down masterclasses for larger groups, walk-around trade fairs or wine dinners. These would be designed for larger groups.
Canadian Wine Masterclass
I developed and currently teach a Canadian Wine Masterclass through Fine Vintage Ltd, that is offered across the country. I can present this course to consumer and trade groups or organizations interested in Canadian wine history, regulation, regions and grape varieties. It will use wines within the Canada’s Best Wines portfolio. Ideal group size is 16 people. Inquire about dates and fees. Other qualified instructors may lead this course in various parts of the country.
Sensory Communication Masterclass
The ability to describe wine and break it down into aroma, flavour and textural components is one of the most difficult skills to acquire, but it can be done through structured approach and repetition. And it is essential when wine professionals need to communicate the experience to each other or consumers. I have written tens of thousands of tasting notes and taught sensory communications for the last ten years. I am able to offer a two-day or one-day program to consumer or trade organizations.
Wine Media Communication
Trained as a journalist and having been a public relations consultant before wine, I understand how media works and how best to use wine media – social and traditional. I am able to provide a full-day seminar, that will include tastings, to wineries or trade organizations. I recommend combining this with the one-day Sensory Communications course above to create a two-day program (weekend), but it can run separately.
